1. About COMMS
COMMS is a free team communication service. A team owner can create teams, set up groups, appoint group leaders and manage who can take part at each of the three access levels.
When you create a COMMS account, we ask you to agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you act on behalf of an organisation, you must be authorised to do so.
2. Using COMMS
You are responsible for your account and anything you post or share. Do not use COMMS for unlawful activity, harassment, threats, spam, unauthorised access or activity that harms other users or the service. Keep your login details secure and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Team management
Team owners and authorised group leaders control team membership and permissions. Your access to team communications depends on the permissions given to you. A team owner or authorised leader may remove you from a team or group. COMMS does not manage workplace decisions or disputes between team members.
Messages you send to a team may remain visible to authorised members of that team even if you later leave it, subject to the applicable retention rules. Other members may also have saved or copied content you shared.
Company admins can delete groups, including their associated content and group-specific private conversations. Save important records separately before deleting a group.
4. Free service and availability
COMMS is free to use. No subscription or payment is required. We aim to keep it reliable, but the service may sometimes be unavailable, changed or discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent storage of messages, or that the service will always be error-free. Do not use COMMS as your only record of information you must retain.
Advertising is not currently active. Adverts and sponsored content may appear in future to support the free service. Advertising is not an endorsement or guarantee of an advertiser’s products or services.
5. Security
COMMS protects messages using HTTPS encryption in transit and encryption of message content and uploaded images in server storage. We take reasonable steps to maintain security, but no online service is completely risk-free.
6. Content and accounts
You remain responsible for content you provide. You allow COMMS to store, process and display that content as needed to provide the service to the people authorised to see it. We may remove content or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or serious misuse of the service.
7. Liability
COMMS is provided in good faith and on an 'as available' basis. To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for problems outside our reasonable control, such as internet outages or misuse by other users. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
8. Updates and contact
We may update these terms as the service develops. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. For questions about these terms, contact z@prvt.co.
